Exceptional Hospitality and Local Kindness in Costa Rica While we didnt stay here, we had dinner one night, and hung out at the bar a couple nights. We also interacted a good bit with Katherine and Cristina, and were very touched by their incredible kindness. While Costa Ricans are known for their warmth, these two truly go above and beyond. Cristina’s generosity started when she let me access her home's third-floor terrace to photograph Scarlet Macaws. Later, we realized she also runs the bar! When my wife mentioned she’d lost her water bottle during a boat disembarkation, Cristina immediately offered her own, washed it, and gave it to us for our hike the next morning. When we returned to drop it off, she took the mangoes we’d bought, peeled them, and prepared them with lime, salt, and pepper-the perfect snack to go with our beers. We were so touched that my wife gave her a personal pendant as a token of our thanks. Katherine, who manages several cabins in the area, was equally amazing. To help us find toucans, she took us up to her mountain cabin and set up a WhatsApp connection to alert us the moment they arrived at her feeders. She even offered her sister’s birding expertise-all out of pure hospitality. We are already planning a return trip with our children to stay at Katherine’s mountain cabin.

The most amazing place ever. The staff/people around were the kindest people I’ve ever met - always welcoming and helpful. The food was incredible too - breakfast, lunch, and dinner were served with a smile, and every meal was delicious! It provided the perfect fuel for all the day’s (and night's) adventures. Very proper connection to nature out here. Insane fishing... Monster Tuna. The hardest part was leaving. I can’t wait to come back. Shoutout to Yohan, Mario, Wendy and all the rest of the crew that made this the best trip ever! ¡PURA VIDA!

I went there as a teen. Is a humble natural spot. Beach front and in the jungle. Be prepared
