About
Secluded bungalows on the beach at San Josecito, run by Sam and the Amaya family — hosts guests describe as always laughing and genuinely happy to help. The setting is the draw: toucans, macaws, parrots, monkeys, and bats around the property, strong sunsets, and a hiking trail starting at the end of the beach. Rooms are spacious with air conditioning and drinking water provided, and meals are served on site three times a day. Corcovado tours can start right from here, with boat pickup on the beach. Honest notes from reviewers: showers are cold-water only, the surf gets powerful — avoid swimming at high tide — and one guest found the restaurant basic for the price, suggesting the Sunset restaurant down the beach as an alternative.

The place is super secluded and located on a great beach. We loved the exotic surroundings—lots of birds! The vibe was really relaxed and uncrowded, and the room had everything we needed (water, coffee, etc.). On the downside, the food at the restaurant was pretty basic and way too expensive for what you get. We highly recommend walking down the beach to the Sunset restaurant instead—much better value! Also, be aware the showers are cold water only, and they ask you to turn the A/C off when you leave the room, which is a pain because it takes forever to cool down again.
Wonderful place! We stayed 10 days and would like to make it even longer. The cabinas have airco which works very well. They are comfortable and large. The bathroom is also perfect with plenty of space. The food is on site and you can eat three times a day healthy local food. There is also water to drink in every cabins so no need to worry about this! Sam and his family do amazing job to make everyone feel at home. We will be back for sure!!! Very highly recommended.
This is paradise. We wanted to stay two nights but stayed four. If we had more time, we would have stayed longer. 😆 The owners are wonderful people, always laughing and are happy to help. It's incredibly beautiful. Many animals such as tucans, macaws, parrots, monkeys, lizards, bats are around. It's crazy. The beach is great, the waves are very strong, you better not swim at high tide. Tours to Corcovado can be started from here without any problems, we did one from here to La Selva and were picked up by the tour operator by boat. You can also go looking for animals on your own, at the end of the beach a hiking trail begins, here again and again Pumas are supposed to roam, unfortunately we couldn't see any. All in all one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited.
