About
A small tour operation based in Los Planes, near Drake Bay, whose guides Karen and Steven earn repeated, specific praise. Reviewers describe night walks with Karen spotting poison dart frogs, snakes, and bats hiding in cut palm leaves; birders got close views of orange-collared manakins at their lek and tasted exotic fruit at a local farm. Steven led a tailored two-person overnight trip into Corcovado, adjusting the pace so guests could take the jungle in. Groups are kept small, so there's room for all your questions, and several visitors mention a delicious traditionally prepared lunch after the walk. Tours go off the boardwalk paths — expect real forest ground underfoot.

We had an amazing experience on the nocturnal tour with Osa Outdoor Adventures! Our guide, Karen, was incredibly knowledgeable and truly passionate about wildlife, which made the tour even more special. We saw poisonous dart frogs, snakes, and so much more. One of the best parts is that every night tour is different you never know what you’re going to find because you’re exploring the animals’ natural habitat. That sense of surprise and discovery made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
We really loved our tour! Karen is so enthusiastic about nature and you can really feel her passion for it during the tour. Since the group size is really small, you can fire away all your questions. In addition to this all her explanations taught us much about the forests and its history. We saw many animals on our walk, including spider monkeys, a snake, little bats hiding in cut palm leaves and many many beautiful birds and insects. Doing this tour you get to see a side of nature without concrete or wooden paths, just forest grounds and I have never felt so close to nature before. The traditionally made lunch was also so delicious and a cherry on top of a wonderful activity. Thank you Karen for the amazing tour!
We do a lot of birding and Karen gave us an exceptional experience in Los Planes. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We got close up views of many amazing birds, including orange-collared manakins at their lek. We also got to taste some exotic fruit at a local farm where we were birding. We can't wait to return for another tour!
