About
A small bakery and cafe in Los Planes, outside Drake Bay, selling fresh bread and serving homemade meals with tables indoors and out. Reviewers praise a chicken-and-shrimp casado cooked entirely to order — nothing reheated, so don't come in a rush — plus fresh tamarind juice, and describe the owners as genuinely kind: one visitor bought bread here all week and chatted with the owner, who returned home after working abroad to start the business. Takeout available; good for kids and groups, with parking and wheelchair access. The road past the cafe continues into a stretch of primary rainforest.

When I stayed for a week in the area I bough bread here a few times. The owner, is a really nice guy that worked abroad and now returned home to start a business and work at improving the community and home he clearly loves. Was very nice to meet him and have a chat. Also, if you continue down the road, you will pass through a bit of amazing primary rainforest.
Wonderful chicken and shrimp casado, cooked entirely fresh for us—nothing reheated here! So, you shouldn't be in a hurry, but it's worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed it, accompanied by a fresh Kas juice. The lady is very kind, and the dining room is lovely, with tables both indoors and outdoors.
A cozy place with delicious homemade food and a very kind and attentive lady. Delicious tamarind juice!
