Tranquilo Lodge…paradise in Drake Bay! We stayed 10 days at Tranquilo Lodge and it was amazing! Christophe & Sebastian were so easy to communicate with throughout the reservation process. Being ever so patient with our credit card issue. Christophe & Alex met us at the airport and the pampering began the minute we arrived at the lodge where we were served cold drinks & provided cool towels. The website accurately described our villa (Luna de Miel), but you must experience it to appreciate its’ beauty and the attention to detail. Our room was spotless and well stocked everyday. We enjoyed the sweet treats and gifts left on our pillows. The bed was so comfortable we slept great! Christophe and his incredible staff ensured we had everything we needed throughout our stay. You can pack light as all toiletries were provided and they offer laundry service every three days. We highly recommend booking tours through the lodge. Alex accompanied us to the beach to ensure we met our guides. We did snorkeling at Cano Island, dolphin watching & had private guides for our Corcovado national park & mangrove tours. All our tours & guides were great. Hiking the San Josecito trail is a must. It parallels the beach with breathtaking views. Three delicious meals a day were included, even on days when we had early tours, a breakfast box was delivered to our room so we could eat beforehand. The owners asked about any food preferences before our arrival and they accommodated for our vegetarian diet. We enjoyed fresh fruits, vegetables and fish. One of the guests caught a Mahi-mahi and the chef prepared it for dinner. It was delicious! A special thank you to Cristina and Alex who served us our meals and made the best fruit drinks! If your looking for a beautiful, safe, relaxing place with breathtaking views, amazing food and 5 star service from a friendly & knowledgeable staff, we highly recommend Tranquilo Lodge!

We had a fantastic, unparalleled stay at the Tranquillo. The grounds are beautiful, the views are stunning, and the rooms are clean and comfortable, but what really made this experience stand apart from anything I've experienced was the staff. The owners Christophe and Sebastan were so attentive and wonderful, they made us feel like we were family. They and the hotel staff were completely on top of our itinerary everyday, making sure we had everything we needed before going out on the tours. The restaurant food was excellent and they made us special gluten-free, dairy free and vegan meals! The hotel is quiet, peaceful and lovely, which is just what we wanted after the day's adventure of snorkeling, Corcovado Park, and horseback riding. They even picked us up and delivered us to the airpoirt personally, and when our luggage didn't come they went (twice!) to the airport to retrieve it while we were out snorkeling! This place is an absolute find! Delightful in every way!!

If you’re even thinking about staying at Tranquilo Lodge in Drake Bay — just do it. This place is unreal. The views alone are worth the trip… jungle, ocean, wildlife everywhere — it seriously feels like you’re living inside a nature documentary. What truly made our stay unforgettable though was the staff and the owners, Kristoff & Sebastian. By the end of the trip it didn’t feel like we were just guests anymore — it felt like we had made actual friends. They are hands-on, genuinely care about your experience, and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. That kind of hospitality is rare. Now let’s talk about the food, because this was one of my biggest surprises. All meals are included and it’s chef’s choice, which made me nervous at first because I’m honestly a picky eater. But they listened to my concerns, worked with my preferences, and absolutely crushed it. Every single meal — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — was incredible. Fresh, creative, and consistently delicious. I looked forward to every meal, which says a lot. This place is peaceful, beautiful, authentic, and run by truly amazing people. If you’re looking to disconnect, recharge, explore Drake Bay, and be treated like more than just a room number — Tranquilo Lodge is it.
