Hotel del Río

So- this was inexpensive yep- but it’s three star so we had some minimum expectations. Like- warm running water and no cockroaches in the room. We didn’t even try breakfast after the cockroach situation. This bug was probably 3” long-Ewwwww! The shower and sink had 1 leaver. It turn the water on and off. No temp control, and barely more than cold water. The electrical panel is literally on the edge of the shower. We have stayed at budget hotels but this had some absolute deal breakers had we not gotten in late enough not to feel it an option to leave. Loud traffic

Small rooms but functional. No couches and just one chair. No hot water but that’s not really a surprise in this part of the world. A great little restaurant with enough choices to make most people happy, A bit overpriced but the airport is close.

I went on a trip to Costa Rica with my friends, and we were looking for a nice budget-friendly hotel to stay at for our visit. We were pleased with this hotel for its price!! We only ate at the restaurant provided at the hotel, and the food was very good. Kitchen staff are super friendly, as well as the other staff at the building. A/C worked very well, but it’s only in the bedrooms; for us, that wasn’t a problem though, as it didn’t really get too hot in the first place. The only problem that wasn’t ever really resolved was the wi-fi, it was quite spotty and we had to move around the hotel in order to get any kind of internet. Overall though, it was a very nice hotel for its price! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a low price hotel that isn’t disgusting.
