About
A Curio Collection by Hilton property directly across from the Puerto Jiménez airstrip — handy if you take the short flight from San José instead of the long drive. Guests describe recently built rooms with high-end finishes and very comfortable beds, a pool several call one of the best they've seen, and walking trails through jungle where wildlife sightings are common. A 4x4 shuttle runs to a quiet private beach with a full beach bar and menu; one group had it nearly to themselves. Tours run through the adjacent Crocodile Bay desk, and the wellness center offers yoga. Recurring gripes: restaurant prices run high, and a few guests found service uneven, from slow check-in to renovation noise.

We stayed here for one week. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Our server, Denis, was so very helpful, pleasant and attentive. Rooms were always clean, the beds were very nice, and a/c worked perfectly. They did a very smart thing to hook up with Crocodile Bay tours. Eduardo and Katherine were the best!! My husband is a photographer and they especially helped him get wonderful photos. We loved our visit. The pool was a welcome relief from the humidity.
Botanika was absolutely beautiful, one of the best pools ever. Staff and facilities were amazing. Rooms were perfect. Wildlife on the trails was incredible. The wellness center was very nice but could use some upgrading. I would definitely recommend taking Amed's (wellness director) yoga class, it was an inspiring experience.
We recently stayed at Botanika Osa Peninsula and left with mixed feelings, though the overall experience was positive. Here is a breakdown of our stay: The Highlights The Room: Absolutely incredible. The construction is very recent with high-end finishes and thoughtful details. Everything was spotless and well-organized, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable—perfect for resting after a day in the jungle. The Facilities: The hotel itself and the common areas are excellent and beautifully designed. Boat Tour: The complimentary boat tour to the beach was a major highlight. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, which added a magical touch to our trip. Location: For those looking to save time, the hotel is right in front of the Puerto Jimenez airport. If you want to skip the 6.5-hour drive from San José, a 45-minute flight is a great alternative. Areas for Improvement Service Disparity: While the staff wasn't "bad," there was a very noticeable difference in the level of service provided to locals versus foreign tourists. We understand that locals may benefit from special rates, but receiving "differentiated treatment" because of it doesn't make much sense. Consistent service should be the standard for every guest. Dining: The food was a bit of a letdown. While not bad, the quality didn't quite match the high prices. Breakfast was the best part, but lunch and dinner left us wanting more. Verdict: We are going home happy because the physical space and the tours are top-tier. However, if they improved the consistency of their service and the quality of the dinner menu, it would truly be a 5-star experience
