La Palapa Hut Nature Hostel

I enjoyed my stay at palapa hut, of course especially because of the garden! So many animals, I loved the crabs the most! The rooms can get really hot and it’s a bit suffocating without windows. The bathroom is ok but also gets hot. They don’t provide soap or oil which could be such an easy and inexpensive upgrade. If you don’t mind not being in the room so often but rather outside, you’ll have a great stay! The location is great, right in front is a little market and laundry and it’s really close to the beach.

Fantastic hostel! The owner is a very nice guy who has great stories and shares useful information. The grounds are just gorgeous; filled with trees, plants, and wildlife. Just at the hostel we saw dozens of different birds, sloths, iguanas, monkeys, and other types of animals! The night guard is so lovely, always looking for them and showing everyone. They also do a bonfire every night! We stayed in a private room which was very nice and had AC. They even offered regular cleaning. Highly recommend this place if you're staying in town !

Really lovely place! It's surrounded by woods, but only a short walk to the center of Puerto Jimenez. Rental bikes were available for guests at much better rates than the rental places in town. The reception attendants were very helpful and showed me the best route to bike to nearby beaches. They also have a great kitchen and nice grounds to walk around; tons of white-faced monkeys hang out in the trees. I stayed for two nights and had so much fun!
