Very expensive for the night but really nice to stay. Visiting the park with a guide was disappointing after other parks we've done and much too expensive. ($73 and the guide did just a walk... Not much to see.) You see more when you stay in the lodge. Maybe it's better to find the lodge in the middle of the park. Here it was a pleasant stay but they are milking your money.
I'm only reviewing the transportation here. The welcome was warm, and we were immediately offered cool water to drink. From Puerto Jiménez, we had a transfer that took about 1 hour and 45 minutes along a bumpy road. The drivers were very careful and even pointed out some animals to us along the way.
La Leona is a beautiful lodge in Corcovado National Park. It's wonderful to spend two days experiencing something a little more primitive. Meals are included, but drinks are quite expensive. The drive there is arduous, a two-hour drive on extremely poor roads. Fording the small rivers is also quite risky, especially at high tide and with high waves.
