Osa Wild

We had a fantastic experience on the 3-day tour in Corcovado National Park. We did the Leona - Sirena - Leona route. Communication on beforehand was very clear, and we received an excellent briefing the day before the tour. Josué was a fantastic guide, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and always helpful. The hikes to and from Sirena on days 1 and 3 were challenging, but definitely manageable, even for people who are not hardcore hikers like us. Day 2 was more relaxed, although we still ended up walking almost 60 km over the three days. Be prepared to hike at a slower pace and stop often to spot wildlife. We’ve been walking for around 9 hours on day 1. We saw so many animals, plants, and trees, it was incredible. My advice would be to bring a little more than 3 liters of water for day 1 (you can refill at Sirena). If you sweat heavily, I’d recommend around 3.5 to 4 liters. I was sweating a lot myself, although I may not have been fully adapted to the heat yet. Also bring enough dry clothes, make sure to protect yourself from the sun, and be prepared to walk quite a bit on the beach. One more tip: bring something to remove ticks. Our guide had around 25, and we had a few ourselves, even while wearing long sleeves, long pants, and using plenty of DEET. Overall, an unforgettable experience and highly recommended!

My experience with Osa Wild team and guide, Luis, was fantastic! The office team provided timely communication to confirm tour dates, recommendations for local accommodations before tour, packing and safety guidelines. The hike from Carate to Sirena Station and back was challenging due to the heat, but packed in amazing views and lots of opportunities to spot wildlife. Luis was professional and friendly, and very experienced with the trail, keeping the group on time to avoid peak heat/sun exposure along the beaches and navigating timing for tides/river crossings. He was enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of local history, wildlife and plant life— pointing out species I would have completely missed on my own. He created a comfortable environment for questions and made sure everyone in the group felt welcome and safe throughout the hike. Great job Osa Wild! 👏

We did the 3 day, 2 night Sunrise to Sirena, boating into Corcovado and doing the 20km hike out to Carate on the last day. I cannot recommend it enough - the staff at OSA Wild were so lovely, we had great communication from the booking stage right through the trip. Our guide was Claudia and we were so lucky to get such a knowledgable and caring person to lead our small group! She could spot animals like a hawk and always knew the species and lots of background info. She also personalised our trip for us and accommodated our wishes, whether it was to see certain wildlife or to swim in Rio Claro! We saw sloths, all four types of monkeys, so many birds, coatis, wild boar, anteaters and more! It was one of the best experiences of my life and I’d do it again in a heartbeat! 💓 Thank you Claudia and the team at OSA Wild!
