A beachfront restaurant on Playa Platanares, located at the Iguana Lodge — worth knowing, because several reviewers say Google Maps steers you slightly wrong; drive to the lodge and park there, and a 4x4 helps in rainy season. The menu is on the smaller side but diners call the dishes delicious: tropical shrimp, nachos, a fresh-lime margarita, and fries one guest declared the best anywhere. The kitchen has even prepared guests' daily catch as sashimi. Beach chairs are free to use, the views get constant mentions, and it's open daily for lunch through dinner, with reservations taken.

Best restaurant in Puerto Jimenez! The chefs are amazing. We were staying next door and they cooked or made sashimi of our daily catch any way we liked. Their French Fries are the best in the world! They even helped us celebrate my wife's birthday there.
We rode bikes from our hotel in town. Great lunch and drinks in a beautiful setting. You can use the beach area and chairs. We had nachos and a great Cole slaw salad, plus a fresh classic margarita and ginger spritzer. The margarita was large with fresh lime.
Very friendly staff, and amazing views! I had a delicious tropical shrimp plate. Really tasty! If you’re navigating, it is located in the Iguana Lodge - google got a little confused for us navigating directly to the restaurant.
